Dear friends,

What is IFCN?
The IFCN is a network of dairy researchers following the mission to “Create a better understanding of milk production world wide”. Based on harmonised data we analyse global dairy trends and create knowledge to guide the various stakeholders in the dairy sector.
Who is participating?
Besides the dairy researchers from about 80 countries, over 60 dairy related companies, a number of dairy related institutions and dairy farmers are partners of the IFCN. The IFCN is funded via membership fees and research projects.
How does it work?
The network is based on Win-Win partnerships. Everybody using the IFCN gives the network something back. The IFCN Dairy Research Center at University Kiel, Germany coordinates the network activities and has 12 researchers.
What are the Outputs?
The results of the annual IFCN work are summarized in the200 page “IFCN Dairy Report”. Furthermore, we organise conferences for the researchers and the dairy related companies. Moreover, the IFCN is involved in a wide range of dairy research projects.
What partnerships does the IFCN offer?
- For Dairy Researchers we provide access to data and models, global benchmarking of dairy regions, networking to other researchers, capacity building, etc.
- For Dairy related companies we provide insights for strategic decisions, networking with other companies, access to data, etc.
- For Dairy related institutions we look for ways to support each other`s activities
- For Dairy Farmers we provide knowledge for successful dairy farm development
- For students interested in dairy we offer the possibility to jointly work on PhD and master theses. We can also partly finance these projects via the IFCN foundation.
